Summary of the 2nd Trimester of the First YearSang with Khenpo Rinpoche

During Second Trimester of First Year (January - March 2016) students at Lishu Institute:

- received teachings about Higher Sutra from Nine Ways of Bon;
- learned chapters 4-7 of middle hagiography of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab;
- learned Bon Prayers (including Tsa Lung Sol Deb and Chod);
- participated in Tibetan language classes (speaking, grammar and reading classes).

An Interview with Sangmo Yangri, Ph.D., Teacher at Lishu

Lishu in distanceLishu Institute near Dehradun, India, will begin the second year of its three-year residential program in Tibetan Bon Buddhism on September 12, 2016. The year will focus on the Ma Gyud teachings, one of the major tantric cycles in the Bon tradition. All are welcome to apply for the second year of teachings. We interviewed Sangmo Yangri, Lishu teacher and administrator, for an update about this year’s program and plans for the second year.

3-Year Residential Program

The first year of the 3-Year Residential Program will include traditional training from the Bon Sutric texts and from the Nine Ways of Bon as well as Tibetan Yoga, Meditation and Tibetan Language. We have put together a survey to help us understand the interests and needs of those who may consider attending programs at Lishu Institute or participating in our online programs. The Lishu Institute Spring 2015 Residential Retreats.

We are delighted to announce Lishu Institute is offering guided retreat opportunities in early 2015 at its campus near Dehra Dun, India. These retreats are a great opportunity for deepening one’s practice. We encourage anyone considering the 3-Year Residential Program at Lishu to come to one or both of these retreats. Students may choose a 2-week Phowa retreat taught by the Venerable Shedrup Lopon Geshe Gelek Gyatso Rinpoche from Menri Monastery and/or a longer retreat –dates and teacher to be announced soon. The teachers will speak in Tibetan and an English translation will be provided.

Main Building almost finished

The main building is nearly finished and painted. Now the interior is going to be done and furniture will be bought.
Now guests can be welcomed to visit and stay and help Geshe-la with his work.
